Located at the front of the hotel, the Lounge is situated in the historic front house where Tjalling Joostes Halbertsma once lived with his family.

The history of the Lounge is infused with the spirit of Professor Halbertsma, who was not only an important professor at the University of Groningen but also a beloved figure in the city. In 1900, the family home underwent a major renovation, with the foundation stone being laid by Halbertsma's grandson. This marked the transformation of the property as we know it today, where the historic front building flows seamlessly into the new bright, modern section.
