Located at the front of the hotel, the Lounge is situated in the historic front house where Tjalling Joostes Halbertsma once lived with his family.
This cozy space exudes the charm of the past, combined with modern amenities such as a sound system. The history of the Lounge is imbued with the spirit of Professor Halbertsma, who was not only an important professor at the University of Groningen, but also a beloved figure in the city.
In 1900, the family home underwent a major renovation, with the foundation stone being laid by Halbertsma's grandson. This marked the transformation of the building as we know it today, where the historic front building seamlessly flows into the new, light, modern section.
